Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Sri VP Singh Badnaur attended this event as Chief Guest. The theme of this drive is “Punjab let’s join hands for a better cause go green & plant a tree”. National sports day is celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Major Dhyaan Chand (Hockey Olympian). On National Sports Day Government of India launched FIT INDIA movement.
Early morning Desh Bhagat University organized 6 km cycling drive. Around 300 students and staff members were participated in it. Later on a program was organized to make a pledge remain fit and contribute to nation’s development. The program inaugurated by University Chancellor Dr.Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur. All students and staff members participated in this program and listen PM Modi’s speech regarding FIT INDIA movement. All students and staff members pledge to remain fit and will participate in sports.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh informed that on the eve of Fit India Movement, Desh Bhagat University is going to launch smart bicycle for the fitness of staff and students. Smart bicycle is equipped with GPS and burning calorie app meter. The burning calorie app meter is based on number of bicycle rotation while GPS guides and provides security to bicycle users.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that sports make us strong internally as well as externally. University provides all facilities to students to take part in FIT INDIA movement.

The objective of the program was to acquaint the students with the academic and training facilities available to them in the university. The program was inaugurated by University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. All students and staff members joined Sri Path sahib held in engineering department.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh wished the students bright careers and conveyed that the University will provide opportunities to the students for overall development. Speaking on the occasion Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, welcomed the students and said that they are going to start a new chapter of life so they have to work hard right from now to achieve their goals. She advised the students to inculcate the values of hard work, commitment and dedication. At the same time, they have to keep themselves away from bad habits and bad company. She also warned the students against the evil of ragging and said that it is an offence which is punishable under law.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh while welcoming the students said that they will find best possible facilities here for their overall growth and development necessary to make them time-relevant and market-relevant. Asst. Registrar of the University informed the students that if they have any query, they should not feel shy and contact their teachers without any hesitation.

The induction program was highly enjoyed and was appreciated by the students and their parents who expressed satisfaction to feel that their dreams will be fulfilled. Students were also shown a motivational film to perform better in academics as well as other fields of life. The Personality Development Cell organized a lecture on Confidence Building Measures and Stress Management for the students. The day marks the unity and solidarity of the global physiotherapy community. It is an opportunity to recognize the work that physiotherapists do for their patients and community. Using World Physical Therapy Day as a focus, WCPT aims to support member organizations’ in their efforts to promote the profession and advance their expertise.
On this occasion cake cutting ceremony was performed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Varinder Singh and Staff Members. He appreciated the doctors for their services.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh appealed to the people to get maximum advantage from the services being provided by Desh Bhagat Hospital. He also said that it is necessary to raise awareness about the roles, importance and responsibilities of doctors and to promote medical profession.
University Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur informed that Medicines were provided free of cost and some laboratory tests were also done free of cost to needy patients. While giving more details, Registrar Dr. Kulbhushan disclosed that during the camp the Physiotherapy specialist examined patients and gave necessary medical assistance. He also advised the people to make exercise and walking for half an hour a daily habit. The patients were highly pleased and contented with the treatment and facilities provided by DBU during the medical camp.

Best MBA University and in top universities in India Students of BBA & MBA went for an industrial trip to Parle G manufacturing unit in Bahadurgarh Parle G is an Indian private limited company. It owns the famous biscuit brand Parle G.
Ms. Pallavi (HR Executive) explained the working of the plant and gave an insightful presentation related to the working of the plant and its production. She also described the functions, benefits of the product and its presence worldwide. They also explained the automation of the plant which follows the highest hygiene standards.
Students were taken around the manufacturing plant and were explained about the production and packaging process. They were explained that Parle G has Asia’s number one oven.
Students also interacted with the staff of the Parle G Plant and were shown videos and presentation of its products. The process in the making is totally automated and is internationally designed keeping in mind the hygiene standards. Students enjoyed their bus ride and asked numerous questions. Overall, the activity was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations within a manufacturing plant.

The industrial visit consisted of interactive sessions by an industrial visit was organized for B.Tech Civil Engg., 2nd & 3rd year Students to Acc Limited. The objective of the visit was to provide students an insight regarding internal working of the company and opportunity to learn practically through interaction regarding the manufacturing, packaging in the plant.
To make students aware and have better understanding of the processes the technical instructors started with the description of the number of power rooms lined with relays and modules corresponding to every process at the floor level. The students were also given a peep into the activities of the control room which uses PLC software. Students climbed up and down various staircases in the plant to get a good idea of the gigantic equipment there and the functions of each.
Finally the students ended their visit by having a look and understanding the functioning R&D section which has The visit was very useful for the students as they could relate their theoretical knowledge with the practical exposure which they have gained after visiting this plant. It was a good learning experience for the students.

Actor Bhavish Kumar, who plays lead role in the film, came to the university, along with team. The film team had come for the promotion of their film.
Director School of Education Dr. Surjeet Patheja welcomed Bhavish Kumar and other artists with bouquets and conveyed best wishes for the success of their film.
Speaking about his new film, Bhavish said that this is a love-drama movie and the music of this film has already gained lot of popularity. The film will be released on 18thof October, 2019. He said the movie was for youth and as well as family. They picked up the concept based on castism in our society. How people lived in that decade and what kind of the problems youth faced. He also entertains the students of the university with dialogues and songs of the upcoming movie.

This visit has been very enlightening. The students were divided into four groups, each guided by a representative of DD. The students were taken around the Art Station Room, PVR Room, Studio and the Editing Room. They were briefly explained how the videos are shot, synchronized by audio, edited, uplinked to the satellite and down linked and distributed as programmes to the houses of viewers. The machines and it’s technicalities in each room were discussed concisely. The students spent 3-4 hours studying and assimilating the valuable information. The main motives behind the Tour were:

Desh Bhagat Hospital organized a mega medical check-up camp. A team of expert doctors with Ayurveda department staff members examined 248 patients in the camp. The camp was inaugurated by Desh Bhagat University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh.
While giving details, Dr. Jyoti H. Dhami said that the team which examined the patients was led by Dr. Baljeet Singh, Chief Medical Officer of the Desh Bhagat Hospital. He disclosed that most of the patients examined by the team were suffering from Heart Diseases, Hypertension, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Low Eye Vision and Anemia etc. Laboratory and Radiological tests were done on discounted rates and Medicines were provided free of cost. Some tests were also done free of cost. The medical team advised the people about proper eating habits, avoid going outside in cold weather without covering head and face, avoid eating unhealthy food and wash eyes with normal water and also use sunglasses when needed.

B.Tech electronics and communication engineering college and best university in Punjab Desh Bhagat University organized an industrial visit for the students of B.Tech ( ECE) 2th semester to Diesel Loco Modernization Works, Patiala. This industrial visit was a part of 4 weeks Institutional training being conducted by the Electrical Engineering Department. On reaching DMW, an overview of various sections was given to the students by officials of DMW. After that the students were divided in two groups and were made to visit the operational sites and workshops along with the faculty members Manjit Verma and Kuldeep Singh. Department Head Prof.M.S.Gill said that this kind of visit gives a better exposure to the students in understanding the theoretical concepts.
