Desh Bhagat University Student Wins Silver Medal in Punjab State Boxing (Women) Championship

Among best education colleges in punjab, Desh Bhagat University Faculty of Education student Harmandeep Kaur has brought glory to the institution by winning Silver Medal in State Level Boxing Competition. Harmandeep won her Silver Medal during the 2nd Elite (Senior) Women Punjab State Boxing Championship held recently at Phagwara.


This was disclosed by DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. While felicitating the student, he said that Harmandeep Kaur proved her worth during a very tough competition in Feather Weight (57Kg) category. She is our Shining Star and a role model for other students. She has proved that hard work and dedication always bear fruit, he added.

 Dr. Singh expressed the view that games and sports are an integral part of our education and to promote the same among students, Desh Bhagat University among universities in punjab provides all types of incentives and facilities to the outstanding players.



 University Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh while congratulating the student over the achievement said that university gives full importance not only to research, innovation and other scholastic activities but also to sports and other co-curricular activities. Harmandeep Kaur gave whole credit for her achievement to the sports facilities available in the university and the able guidance of her coach and Assistant Director (Sports) of DBU Mr. Nandan Singh.

International Seminar on Life And Philosophy Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Desh Bhagat University

Desh Bhagat University, best university in Punjab (2nd Rank, NIRF Ranking: MHRD, Govt. of India) organised an International Seminar on ‘The Life and Philosophy of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’ in connection with 350th birth anniversary (Parkash Utsav) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. A large number of research scholars, guests from abroad, students and teachers of different universities attended it. While presiding over the function, S. Kaka Randeep Singh (MLA, Amloh) said that Guru Ji sacrificed his whole family to uphold the human dignity and the high values of life.


Our life without Guru Ji’s teachings will not be worth living at all and we must give it due importance in our life. Earlier university Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh while welcoming the Chief Guest and all other guests said Guru Ji’s Philosophy was Live and Let Live, if we want to save the humanity we have to follow it. On this occasion a book on Guru Gobind Singh Ji published by the DBU was also released. Dr. Bahista Singh (W/o S. Kaka Randeep Singh) graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.

 The keynote speaker on this occasion was renowned scholar Dr. H. S. Bedi (Former Professor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar), who said, ‘Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji was a Spiritual Master, A warrior, A Poet and A Philosopher’. He highlighted the importance of Guru Ji’s Philosophy, teachings, his contribution to society and literature. 




Dr. Baltej Mann stated that by forming of Khalsa Guru Ji creates a warrior community who is always ready to protect down trodden, women, humanity, our country and more over animals. Dr. Rajinder Singh Bola ( A Sikh scholar on Guru Granth Sahib from U.K.) said teachings of Guru Ji are like a torch, which always shows us path whenever we are in darkness or in catastrophe. 


Prof. Achhru Singh while speaking about Guru Sahib’s literary and music work said his literary work is highly inspiring, motivated and educative. The other scholars Dr. H.S. Randhawa, Dr. Bhim Inder Singh and Dr. Shreyansh Dwivedi also shared their views on the topic.




Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, while proposing vote of thanks highly appreciated views of all the guests. 

Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh and Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Neelima Jerath expressed the hope that the conference will prove quite useful for the students, research scholars and for the society as well.

Desh Bhagat University Organises Patent Awareness Workshop

Ranked in top two for  Best university in Punjab ranking in private sector, (NIRF Ranking, MHRD- govt. of India) Desh Bhagat University’s Patent Information Centre organized a workshop on Patent Awareness. Among top LLB colleges in punjab the event was graced by Industrialists from Ludhiana, Mandi Gobindgarh, Amargarh, Amloh, Rajpura and Experts from TIFAC DST Govt of India, students and staff members from Faculty of Engineering and other faculties as well who participated in it.


The event was inaugurated by the university Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. He said that objective of the event is to teach our students about the various facets of intellectual property, like patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright etc. which play a major role in encouraging innovation and creativity.

 The chief Guest on this occasion was Mr. Vinod Vashist (President, All India Steel Rolling Association) who shared his views on Copyright, Challenges for entrepreneurs in the changed knowledge regime.

 The keynote speaker of first session was Mrs. Sangeeta Nagar, (Scientist E TIFAC, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India). She talked about the Development of Intellectual Property Rights system in India. She said each and every new invention needs copyright and patent protection and we have to be aware about it.



​Mr. B S Sooch, Registered Patent Agent spoke on Patenting System of India.​ Ms. Sanjeeta Das, Patent Attorney from a leading IPR firm spoke on Trademarks and Design Registration.



During session second, Dr.  Ashwani Siwal (Department of Law, University of Delhi) informed about Copyright Management in Academic Institutions in detail and provided information on latest Rulings of the Court on the subject.


Ms. Divya Kaushik, (Scientist PIC) talked about the Role of PIC, PSCST and Services offered. The Experts interacted with the students and shared their experiences.



Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur informed that under Professional Competency Test (PCT) the university has already included Intellectual Property Right (IPR) subject to its curriculum from the academic session 2017-18. At the end.

Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital Organises a Seminar on Anti Ragging

Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital Mandi Gobindgarh, a constituent of Desh Bhagat University, best university in Punjab (2nd Rank, NIRF Ranking for top private universities in Punjab- MHRD, Govt. of India) organized an Anti Ragging Seminar for all dental students.  The programme was especially arranged to make the students aware against the menace of ragging.


Desh Bhagat United Chairman and DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated the event. He highlighted that Ragging is an academic evil and DBU campus is a ragging free campus.


We have made all arrangements for the safety of the students by forming anti ragging committee and squad. The squad is working very efficiently to provide the students safe and secure environment.


Dr. Vikas Jindal graced the occasion as Chief Guest. While addressing the students he said that Ragging is a punishable offense, they have to follow code of conduct and report quickly if any incident of ragging happens.



He advised them to adhere to moral values learns from family and from your teachers as this provides congenial environment.


DBU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh emphasized maintaining discipline everywhere. He talked about the importance of discipline and urged the students to maintain it not only in college campus but in Hostel, thus providing ragging free campus.


Principal Dr. Rajiv Bali assured the students that the campus is equipped with all modern facilities, if they have any query, they should not feel diffident and contact their teachers without any hesitation. He warned that ragging in any form will not be ignored and quick action should be taken if anyone found guilty.


 Seminar was presented by faculty member Dr. Rajbir Kaur Grewal who explained about all laws, regulations related to menace of ragging. She also shared details of anti ragging helpline and email of anti-ragging committee.


Vice Chairperson DBU, Dr. Tajinder Kaur proposed Vote of Thanks. She advised the students to inculcate the values of hard work, commitment and dedication.



At the same time, they have to keep themselves away from bad habits and bad company. Dr. Sanjiv Soni, Hod’s and staff members were also present at the program.

  Host DBU Stands Fourth And Qualifies For National Championship

 “It’s not the team with the best players that win, it’s the players with the best team that wins, said S. Gurpreet Singh GP (MLA, Bassi Pathana).


He was the Chief Guest on the final day of North Zone Intervarsity Football Tournament (Men) being held at Desh Bhagat University, best university in Punjab (2nd Rank for best private university in Punjab NIRF Ranking, MHRD- Govt. of India). He encouraged all the players to be passionate about their game, improve it with practice and promote sports in every possible way.



Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh presiding over the Prize Distribution function informed that a total of 64 teams from different universities from all over India participated in the annual tournament of Association of Indian Universities (AIU).



Mr. Kashmir Singh AGM, Indian Overseas Bank and S. Harinder Bhambri (Dist. President) graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.


They motivated all the teams to do their best and win medals for the country. They appreciated all the teams for their excellent performance. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh thanked the chief guest and all other guests.


The final matches of the tournament were particularly thrilling and breath-taking and players were struggling hard for even a single point. In the final, Panjabi University beat Punjab University and lifted the trophy. The result of the tournament was as under:



1.     Punjabi University, Patiala (First Position)

2      Panjab University, Chandigarh (Second Position)

3.     Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Third Position)

4.     Desh Bhagat University Mandi Gobindgarh (Fourth Position)


The Tournament was a source of great education and entertainment for the students and staff of different universities. All the players and coaches of the teams admired the arrangements made by the host university. Dalbir Singh (Punjabi University),


 Dr. Bhupinder Singh (Coach, Punjab University), Dr. Jaspal and Pardeep Kumar (Coaches, GNDU)and Deepak (Coach, DBU) were especially honoured on the occasion.
 

 The officials of sponsored companies and the members of Football official committee sent by AIU were also honoured for their services during the tournament.


This event was organised under the supervision of Deputy Director (Sports) and Coach, Nandan Singh. Mr. Sarabjeet Singh from Railways was the match commissioner of the tournament.

Dbu To Start Diploma In Pharmacy (Allopathic) From New Session

Desh Bhagat University’s School of Pharmacy organized Pharma Fest. In this programme, all the students of B-Pharmacy participated with full enthusiasm.  The event was inaugurated by University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. As part of this programme, students undertook a drive to create awareness regarding drugs, cleanliness (Swachh Bharat) and universal brotherhood.While presiding over the function Dr. Zora Singh said, ‘It is easy to get a thousand prescriptions, but hard to get one single remedy’. He encouraged the students to get full knowledge of their field and not to take a decision in a hurry as patients have all faith on their doctors. Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the students and staff for their awareness drive.

Giving more details of the event Principal Dr. Pooja Gulati briefed that all the students of B. Pharmacy performed in various activities on Pharma-Fest like Rangoli Competition, Paper Reading, Poster Presentation and Quiz competition etc. under the guidance of various faculty members.  She admitted that we have well established Laboratories and well experienced staff. School of Pharmacy is going to start Diploma in Pharmacy (Allopathic) in coming session of 2018-2019, she also stated. Winners of different competitions were honoured with prizes and certificates. The students who performed exceptionally well in academics were also awarded with mementoes and special prizes. Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the initiatives of the students and the arrangements done by the faculty members.





















World Cancer Care & Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital Organises Free Medical Checkup Camp on Cancer Awareness

World Cancer Care Charitable Society & Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital jointly arranged free medical checkup camp at Gurudwara Guptsar Sahib, Village Jasran, Mandi Gobindgarh.


Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated the camp and said that every disease is curable if we get the proper treatment from an experienced doctor at the initial stage. Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur briefed that during the Cancer Awareness Camp, patients were examined by the team of WCCC Society consisting of Dr. Suresh, Dr. Navneet Kaur, Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, and Coordinator Devinder Kaur.


The team examined more than 90 patients and gave necessary medical assistance. Medicines were provided free of cost and laboratory tests were also done free of cost to needy patients. This Camp was one the first of its kind in this particular area, she added.


The second medical camp was also arranged at the same place for Dental and, where team of Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital and Desh Bhagat Hospital consisting of Dr. Baljeet Singh (CMO), Dr. Shashi Bala, Dr. Nishant Paika (Medical Officer) and team of Dentists Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, Dr. Tarun, Dr. Monika and Dr. Prabhjot examined more than 120 patients.


University Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh appreciated the doctors for their services and appealed to the people to get maximum advantage from the services being provided by Desh Bhagat Dental College & Hospital and Desh Bhagat Hospital.


Director, Faculty of Ayurveda, Dr. Kulbhushan informed that the medical teams advised the people about healthy eating habits and also suggested them to keep away from junk food.


Desh Bhagat Dental College Principal Dr. Rajiv Bali said that the dental doctors gave demonstration to masses how to use toothbrush and to do it regularly before going to bed. The Parbandhak Committee of Gurudwara Sri Guptsar Sahib highly appreciated the initiative of Desh Bhagat University & DBDC.

Lohri Celebrations at Desh Bhagat University

“Lohri festival is common to all religions and castes. It unites the people and creates the feelings of communal harmony and universal brotherhood", said Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University,  best university in Punjab (2nd Rank, NIRF Ranking for top private universities in Punjab- MHRD, Govt. of India). He was greeting the whole staff and students on the auspicious occasion of Lohri Festival. A special function was arranged in the university, in which staff and students from different faculties participated. A scene of Punjabi culture was created at the Lohri Venue. On this occasion, the members of the staff presented a colourful and educative cultural programme consisting of songs, poems, dances and giddha etc. After performing the ceremony of Lohri, there was free helping of groundnuts, rewaries and gachak.



Speaking on the occasion, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur firmly said that we should take a pledge on this occasion that we shall celebrate the Lohri of newly born Girls along with the Lohri of the boys and we must educate our girls so that they are able to stand on their own feet and become self-dependent. She said that Our Gurus, Saints and Sages have advocated equality between the males and the females. Vice-chancellor, Dr. Virinder Singh and Vice President Er. Sandeep Singh also wished to all and said that the girls are the foundations as well as the roots of the family and the society. Discrimination against girls is a sin against society as well as religion. The function proved to be an occasion of fun, frolic, fellowship and festivity. University Directors of different faculties including Provost & Dean Research Mrs Neelima Jerath, Dr. Shalini Gupta, Dr. Kulbhushan Dr. Pooja Gulati. Harmandeep won her Silver Medal during the 17th Senior Women National Boxing Championship held recently at Brahmpur, Odisha.


This was disclosed by DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh. While felicitating the student, he said that Harmandeep Kaur proved her worth during a very tough competition in Feather Weight (54-57Kg) category. She is our Shining Star and a role model for other students. She has proved that hard work and dedication always bear fruit, he added. Dr. Singh expressed the view that games and sports are an integral part of our education and to promote the same among students, Desh Bhagat University provides all types of incentives and facilities to the outstanding players.

Guest Lecture on 'PREVENTION AND AWARENESS OF HEPATITIS’ at Desh Bhagat Dental College

Desh Bhagat Dental College and Hospital among best bds dental colleges in Punjab, a constituent of Desh Bhagat University organised a guest lecture on the topic 'Prevention and Awareness of Hepatitis' to enhance the knowledge of the students. The programme was especially arranged for all the students of BDS Courses in Punjab (http://www.dbdch.com/bds-bachelor-of-dental-surgery)


Giving details of the event Dr. Rajiv Bali (Principal, Desh Bhagat Dental College) said that Eminent Gastroenterologist Dr. Nitin Shankar Behl (Senior Consultant and HOD, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana) was the guest speaker on this occasion.


While interacting with the students Dr. Nitin Behl discussed about Hepatitis B (HB) and Hepatitis C (HC). He said that Hepatitis B (HB) affects 240 million people around the world, and children and young adults make up a large proportion of the infected population. Approximately 1 million people die of HB each year, Almost same is happening in the case of Hepatitis C (HC). He said that we can save ourselves from Hepatitis with awareness and some prevention. Test of Hepatitis from time to time is a must for safety. Like Polio Awareness we have to start a movement against all types of Hepatitis to protect from such a serious ailment, he added.



During his two hour lecture Dr. Nitin discussed several points and shared his views regarding how to overcome our weaknesses and how to achieve the desired goal. Students of BDS Courses in Punjab at DBU evinced a keen interest in the lecture and during the interaction session, they asked relevant questions on concerned topic which the learned speaker answered to their entire satisfaction. The students expressed their satisfaction and felt encouraged.

Desh Bhagt United Chairman Dr. Zora Singh and Vice Chairperson Dr. Tajinder Kaur appreciated the initiative taken by the Dental College and said that such lectures add to the knowledge of the students and enhance their self-confidence. Among others Vice-Principal Dr. Sanjiv Soni, faculty members of Dental College, various practitioners from Amloh, Mandi Gobindgarh, Khanna and Sirhind were also present at the occasion. Certificates from Punjab dental council (with 6 CDE) points were distributed to the participants.

 

Desh Bhagat University's Convocation 2018 On Wednesday 14 Feb

In top private universities in Punjab, the stage is all set for the Convocation-2018 of Desh Bhagat University to be held on 14th February (Wednesday), on the campus. As many as 600 pass outs of the university and the group are expected to participate in the convocation and receive their degrees. On this occasion, Shri  Prem Bhandari Ji (Chairman  Bhagwan  Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti) will preside over the function.


Giving this information to the media, Chancellor of the university, Dr. Zora Singh disclosed that it will also be an occasion for Desh Bhagat University to confer P.HD. (Honoris Causa) to Sh. S. P. Singh Oberoi and Arcarya Shailesh Tiwary Ji.

Ranked as the best university in Punjab for educational diversity, it is worth mentioning that Desh Bhagat United has been imparting Professional and Technical Education in this area for over the last  22 years and has excellent track record. Desh Bhagat University's 5th Convocation Held, 750 Degrees Conferred

Ranked in top three best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University held its convocation at Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Auditorium. About 750 pass outs including PhD’s and M. Phil’s of the university and the Desh Bhagat United belonging to different streams participated in the convocation and received their degrees and medals.


 Shri Prem Bhandari (Chairman, Jaipur Foot, USA) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address, he said that future belongs to those who believe in dreams, “Go and fulfil your dreams and shine on the canvas of the country and the world”.


He also urged the youth to keep away from all kinds of drugs as well as social evils and contribute to the development of the nation.


While addressing the graduates and the mammoth gathering present on the occasion, University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh exhorted the students to have high values, work hard and adopt positive attitude to fulfil their own dreams as well as the dreams of their parents.


Pro Chancellor of the University Dr. Tajinder Kaur welcomed Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, as well as all other guests.


In top rank university in Punjab, on this occasion, Desh Bhagat University conferred Ph.D / D. Lit (Honoris Causa) degree on Sh. Prem Bhandari, Dr. S.P. Singh Oberai and Acharya Shailesh Tiwari. All the recipients of honorary degrees thanked the University for recognizing their contribution to the society and honouring them for the same.


S. Mukul Goyal (IPS) I.G. BSF, Mr. Romesh Gujral, Dr. Jagannath Patnaik graced the occasion as special guests. The MD's and CEO's of different companies including Sh. Vinod Vashist, Vishal Bhardwaj, Miss Priti and Sh. V.K. Verma were honoured at the occasion. Prof. Douglas Paul of Equity Score USA were especially present to grace the event.


Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Virinder Singh read the academic report of the university and highlighted its achievements.


The students who have performed excellently during the academic year in sports and other co-curricular activities were especially honoured with medals and certificates.

Legal Awareness Drive on E-Court System By Desh Bhagat University

In the best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University faculty of law College in Punjab, organized a legal awareness camp. The camp was arranged in Govt. Sr. Secondary School Village Lohar Majra Kalan with the active assistance of Gram Panchayat and the School Staff.


While giving details Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur said that the main objective of the camp was to create awareness amongst the public at large about the functioning of the E-Courts system and fundamental rights of a person.


During the camp, Dr. Inderpreet Kaur (HoD, Faculty of law College in Punjab, DBU) gave a lecture on E-Court and the rights of a common man. On the other side Law Students under the guidance of their teachers discussed legal provisions regarding other topics of public concern including consumer protection, female Foeticide, domestic violence against women, women empowerment, public interest litigation.



Harbhajan Singh Jallowal, a Para-legal Volunteer with the District Legal Services Authority, Fatehgarh Sahib elaborated the provisions regarding free legal aid to the needy persons and also narrated the working of Alternative Dispute Resolution System in the district. Apart from the Head of the Law Department, other members and the faculty of Desh Bhagat law College in Punjab, namely, Manpreet Kaur, Prabhjot Kaur, Ravneet Kaur and Satish Kumar were also present and responded to the enquiries of the audience.



Those present included Sarpanches S. Mujand Singh Loharmajra Kalan, S. Lakhbir Singh Jallowal and S. Mohan Singh Sirajmajra, Panchayat members, students and staff of the school, Anganwari Workers Joginder Kaur and Surinder Kaur, Retired Supervisor Sarabjit Kaur and local villagers.


Ms. Vanita, the school in charge welcomed the University team and S. Swaran Singh, teacher, stressed the need and utility of such camps for creation of much-required legal literacy amongst the masses.


S. Jagwinder Singh Grewal, also a teacher, summed up the proceedings and narrated various social evils and efficacy of legal provisions in tackling the same.



The students also had an interactive session with the community. The camp concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Mr. Satish Kumar.

Desh Bhagat University Organizing Mega Job Fair On 26th Feb

Desh Bhagat University, among best university in Punjab is going to organize State Leval Mega Job Fair at its campus on 26, 27 & 28th February.  While giving details, the university Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh informed that more than two dozen prominent companies of India including Eureka Forbes, Reliance JIO, Orane, Sportking,  Cinif Technology, Touch Stone, Willowood Crop, C S Soft Solution, Solitaire Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Pix India Pvt. Limited, Edelweiss, Aviator Hub  etc. shall be participating in this Mega Job Fest. Officers of these and many other companies will select suitable candidates for different jobs, Dr. Singh added.

The Job Fest will start at 10:00 A.M., candidates who are Graduate, Post Graduate in various streams like Management, Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Agriculture etc. may apply for suitable jobs. E-8 Cricket Tournament (Women) Organised At Desh Bhagat University

In best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University organized E-8 Women Cricket Tournament (Staff) at its campus. A total of 6 teams from different faculties, College and departments participated in this tournament. The Final Match was played between the teams from Faculty of Ayurveda and Desh Bhagat Dental College.


In best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Virinder Singh was the chief guest on this occasion, who tossed for the final match.


He wished Good Luck to both teams. Earlier, 6 teams of different faculties, College and departments played their fixtures and showed their sports talent. After League and semi final matches, the Final of the tournament was particularly thrilling and interesting.


In the finals, Dental College Team won the toss and opted to field. First to bat, Faculty of Ayurveda team Openers Dr. Nitika (Captain) and Dr. Darshna played well and the team scored 59 runs by losing 7 wickets in 10 over. In reply to the given challenge of 60 runs, Dental College Team openers Dr. Kamal (Captain) and Dr. Prabhjot played excellently and scored 40 runs in just four overs.
 Both of them took the team to 50 runs without any loss.



But, the team lost their flow after both openers got out. But, Dr. Javir once again proved herself and played excellently. She hit four fours in an over of Dr. Nidhi. Finally the victory shot came out from her bat when she hit a sixer on a short pitch ball.


The Team of Dental College won the match and lifted the trophy. Dr. Kamal and Dr. Jasvir were declared Players of the tournament.

1100 Students Participates In State Level Mega Job Fest At Desh Bhagat University

In best university in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University organized a State Level Mega Job Fest, at its campus. The three day long fest was targeted at the students who are Graduates, Post Graduate in various streams like Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Applications etc. The Fest was attended by more than 1100 job aspirants from different parts of Punjab. 


 S. Jaspreet Singh IAS (SDM, Amloh) and Naib Tehsildar Mr. Ashok Kuamr graced the occasion by their presence. They hoped that this mega job fair will provide a launch pad to give jobs to the youth of the state.


While giving details, Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that the Mega Job Fest was organized in collaboration with Govt. of Punjab.  In this Mega Event more than 30 well-known National and Multinational companies including Eureka Forbes, Reliance JIO, Orane, Sportking,  Cinif Technology, Touch Stone, Willowood Crop, C S Soft Solution, Solitaire Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Pix India Pvt. Limited, Edelweiss, Aviator Hub, Hoshiarpur Automobiles  etc. participated.


These companies came with 800 vacancies of different posts. The event received huge success as more than 100 candidates were selected and 250 were short listed through written test and personal interview by different companies and got job letters on the spot.


Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur expressed that the Job Fair initiative by Govt. of Punjab in collaboration with educational institutes would provide a golden opportunity to youth of the state to get jobs.


Vice-chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh said that as a part of corporate social responsibility, the university has been organizing such job fairs on regular basis for providing suitable employment opportunities to candidates, not only for its own students but for the students of the whole North India.

The event was a source of healthy entertainment and Fun & Frolic for all the students. Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur inaugurated the mega event and said that such events are a source of knowledge and recreation, from which the youth get a direction to showcase their skills, gets practical exposure and information about our rich heritage and culture.


 Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh said that the event was focused on Women Entrepreneurship and its objective was to entertain the students and to develop their entrepreneur skills as all the stalls were managed by the students of different faculties. Mr. Shahood Alam (Assistant Director, MSME, Ludhiana) and Mr. V.K. Sharma (Deputy Director).


The event presented pictures of rich Traditional Culture and Heritage of many states of the country. The craftsmen from different states exhibited their artistry and students from different faculties participated and showed their talents through modelling, singing and dancing competitions etc.


On this occasion stalls of various brands like Khadi Gramodyog and many others attracted attention of everyone. These stalls demonstrated products like Ayurvedic and Herbal Products Aloeveera Juice, Gel, Shampoo, Soaps, Tonics, Chawayanprash etc. made by the Pharmacy Department of the university.

Star attractions of the event were the performances of Giddha, Bhangra, Manipuri Dance, Malwai Gidha and Singing by the individuals and teams of Girls and Boys. The students and Commuters also enjoyed Marry-Go-round, Camel & Horse Ride, Shooting and Fun games etc.


There were stalls showcasing Traditional values, culture, art and history of the country. The response of the audience was excellent to many Exhibition cum Sale stalls of different products like Paintings, Decorative Articles, Artificial Jewellery and Needle Work Articles.

Agri Incubator of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Campus (IEDC) Desh Bhagat University is organizing an Agro-Festival on 16th March 2018.




































The event is designed to bring together leading exhibitors related to agricultural industry, suppliers of Equipments & Farm machinery, Animal Feed, bee keeping, mushroom cultivation, Vermicomposting, fish farming, drip irrigation, food processing, animal husbandry etc. who are participating in the event to capitalize their business. Management Club Fest, Comenzo-2018 was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm by the students and staff of Desh Bhagat University, in best university in Punjab.



The event proved to be a source of healthy entertainment and a stage for environmental awareness. University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh inaugurated this mega event and said that such kind of programmes imparts knowledge and recreation, and this is a platform for students to explore and exhibit their talent and enhance their skills.



Giving more details, Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur said that the students from different classes participated with full zeal and exhibited their talents through different competitions like Collage Making, Face Painting, Extempore, Quiz, Radio Mania, Karaoke, Khojo Toh Jano ‘Treasurer Hunt’, Corporate Walk, Ad Mad, Group Discussion, and PPT.






The star attraction of the event, which stole the show was the fashion parade ‘Unity in Diversity’ demonstrating culture of different states.



Dr. Kaur said that the objective of this programme was to bring out the hidden talents of the students and channelize their energies in right direction. Later, the winners of different competitions were honoured by university officials.

Women Are The Real Architects Of Society: Dr. Tajinder Kaur

‘Women are the real architects of the human society, the thinking of society about women has changed a lot and they are much stronger than before but still there are several miles to go for their full empowerment,’ said Desh Bhagat University Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. She was presiding over the Women's Day function at the campus.


The day was celebrated with great zeal and fervor by all the faculties. The celebration started with the cake cutting ceremony by Dr. Kaur and class four employees.



 Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Vice Chancellor Dr. Virinder Singh conveyed their best wishes to all the women employees of the university on this auspicious occasion.


 In Second Phase, University Faculty of education organised an Awareness Rally against Drugs. 



Director Dr. Surjit Patheja informed that the students of different classes took part in it and made the people aware against all kinds of drugs and other social evils like crime against women, female foeticide etc.



The students visited surrounding villages and also distributed the awareness pamphlets.


 In the last phase of the celebrations a cultural function was organized by university school of Nursing, in which girl students performed items like Giddha, Songs, Play and recital of poems.



The Girl students who had performed excellently in the field of sports and academic were also honoured.
