In best agriculture college in Punjab, Desh Bhagat University organized a seminar under the National Tobacco Prevention Program to create awareness about the harmful impact of tobacco on human health. Dr. Zora Singh welcomed the chief guest Dr. N. K. Aggarwal Civil Surgeon Fatehgarh Sahib along with other dignitaries Dr. Navjot Kaur, Dr. Rajesh (T.B specialist), District Mass Media Officer Mr. Parminder Singh and Pro Chancellor DBU Dr. Tajinder Kaur. He also welcomed all the faculty members and students. Dr. Zora Singh said that it is need of the hour to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and run a social movement for tobacco free society. He encouraged all the students to take part in social activities and put efforts for the betterment of our society.
Dr. N. K. Aggarwal in his inauguration speech shared views about the harmful impact of tobacco and other drugs on human health. He said that tobacco addiction is one of the main reason of cancer in India. We should be aware about the problems that emerge by use of tobacco. We all need to create awareness about the effects of tobacco on human body and the diseases that are caused due to use of tobacco. He appreciated the effort of the university to organizing such meaningful functions to create health awareness. He also gave his blessing to the students who performed a play on the drug menace in Punjab.
